Five colours I like from COLOURlovers

Colour is everywhere – it’s the way our brains figure out the light. It’s how we figure out where stuff stops and starts without touching it. It’s all about proportions, about edges, about tones.

I love that time of a rainy day, when the water stops falling from the sky and the sun is sinking low, diffusing through the saturated cloud layers. That is the time that colours show their true selves. They vibrate and hum along-side each other for those few brief moments.

That is the time for honest colour.

Watch for it.

entered Horse Bazaar
- removed my coat
- removed my scarf
- removed my cardigan
- removed my wallet from my bag
approached the bar
- waited to be served
  - said hi to Fox as she arrived
    - said yes to Fox when she asked me to order her a Pip Squeak
- ordered a glass of Coopers pale ale and a Pip Squeak when I was served
pushed my way through loiterers to get to the back of the bar
- put the drinks on a table
- put my bag on one chair
- put my coat on another chair
- sat on a third chair
talked to fox
said hi to Will when he arrived

- told Willo we’d saved him a seat
  - told Will he was out of luck, seatwise
settled down to listen to Justin from Google talk about Android (amoung other things)
- listened to Justin from Google field questions from the floor
- applauded Justin from Google
pulled my moleskine from my bag to take notes
- Willo drew a cock and balls in my moleskine
  - I laughed
listened to randoms talk about their mobile products for 5 minutes a piece plus questions
- took notes
- applauded when it was finished
- put on my coat

- picked up my bag

left Horse Bazaar
went to a 7/11
- purchased a tram ticket
walked to the tram stop
- caught the number 86 tram
- validated my ticket just as the tram inspectors boarded
talked too much to Fox and Willo on the tram ride home
- made Fox roll her eyes when I told her about Willo drawing in my Moleskine
- disagreed with fox when she says it’s the only thing he can draw, because I’ve seen him draw a frog
left the tram outside Safeway supermarket on Smith Street

- bought 10 slices of pastrami
- 1 litre of milk
- 1 tomato
- paid for items at the checkout
walked to our apartment with Fox and Willo
- arrived in our apartment
sat on the sofa while Fox and Willo cooked their tomato soup
- didn’t want tomato soup
- screwed new filter I’d purchased before going to Horse Bazaar but failed to list earlier to lens of camera
- fitted new lens cap I’d purchased before going to Horse Bazaar but failed to list earlier to lens of camera
heated up left over pasta from yesterdays dinner
- added four chopped up slices of pastrami to the mix
- sprinked with parmasen cheese
- ate left over pasta from yesterdays dinner
told fox I hadn’t managed to do my pocket today because the list was too long
- fox rolled her eyes
so I decided to just get on with it and write it
- and I did
